Mori pours magic into her staff, thorny tendrils of entropic energy lash out across the surface of its shaft. She grips it in two hands and brings the staff down like a greatclub on the spiders face, grimacing as the magic grinds away at its flesh.

Black lines appear on the spiders face, spreading out from the obsidian staff planted in its face. It shrieks in pain and rage pulls away from the weapon.
"That's a scary looking hit," Troy says, pulling out a mace. He clubs down the maimed spider, and a moment later Phil leaps out of the sand cloud onto the last normal spider's back, sticking his spear through its abdomen. It thrashes around, then goes limp.

"You don't say?" Luc remarks in reply to Troy's comment on the large spider, and its rather sudden appearance. "You know, just a guess here, but I have this sneaking suspicion our friend on the mountain-top isn't too happy with us."

Wasting little time, Luc flies up and lands behind Kai, where he takes a moment to place a hand over some of his recent wounds. However, his casting of curative energies is a bit rushed, and doesn't quite live up to its proper potential. [+4HP to Kai]

The spider shrieks and retaliates at Mori, biting her for 7 Piercing and [CON success] 6 Poison.
Then it vanishes. Jasper looks around wildly.
"What on Atlas..." Troy mutters.
"Shit," Marilynn says, raising her shield and looking around furiously.

Tracy, Kai, Lynn and Mori take up defensive stances, reading to attack should it return.
Troy puts his hand on Mori's shoulder where she was bit, muttering a prayer and healing her for 7.
Jasper mutter something and her eyes glow blue. She looks around, then her eyes fix on something and tracks it move away. "Alright, looks like Mori scared it off..."
"I assume it went invisible?"
Jasper shakes her head. "It... Left the physical plane, actually."
"It was... A ghost?"
"Um... Kind of."
After a pause Troy makes a hand motion to elaborate.
Jasper doesn't.

"Hmmm..." Mori grumbles, tightening her grip on her staff. "I don't like teleporting things. To hard to keep track of."

"Leaving the physical plane isn't exactly teleporting, honestly it's a little more ominous. It didn't seem spectral, usually I think ethereal things projecting a form are supposed to appear spectral. That seemed pretty fully real to me."

Marilynn takes to removing the fangs from the spiders and extracting some poison. Meanwhile, Phil hides behind the shade of one of the large rocks. Then, he appears to notice something, and begins digging at the sand up against the side of the rock and mountain face.

Tracy puts her sword away. "Well this is both awesome and frustrating. Wonder how many of those damn things are out here."

Tilting her head to her side curiously, Mori walks around the rock Phil's hiding behind and watches him intently.
What do you see little guy?
She asks him, reaching out with her mind to touch his.
