So it Begins

"Then lead the way pretty boy, lets see what guardians were to big and scary for you." Eve says with a smirk.

"Fuck... Can you cut water with a sword? I don't think you can cut water with a sword." Evelynn sighs, scratching the back of her head and walking in circles. Her text also turning golden with holy power. "Well, unless you guys have any other ideas I think we are just going to have to get a little wet." She finally says, turning to the group with a defeated shrug of her shoulders.

"No, I can't stab water. Theo, you have anything for me?"
"Not... really..." Theo answered.
"You could attack it with a towel," Ren offered.
Knives rolls her eyes. "Okay cut the crap, where are we going?"
"It's like a magical well, but the water comes up and attacks you."
"What do we want out of a magical well?"
"Uh... magical water?"
"You know I can't pass up an enchanted well, Knives."
"I know you and Ev have some divine magic to deal with this thing but-"
"Oh you do? Perfect! I'm sure we'll be fine."
"..."

"Honestly, I'm a little concerned about weapons and armor getting rusty. We are going to need to dry our gear off as quickly as we can once this is dealt with. There is a reason most people don't go swimming in metal armor; besides sinking."
Eve lets out a small scoff and smirks for a moment, then starts to say something to Knives before visibly changing her mind. "Though Knives I've never thought I'd-... Hmmm... Maybe because it has a solid form when it rises up we might be able to impact it in some small way? Blunt objects like maces might do the trick, along side me and Theo doing our things."

"Oh Terra no Knives, that would be sacrilegious. I was going to say that I never knew you to turn down an opportunity to get wet with me, but felt like saying that wouldn't be productive to the strategy planning.' Eve replies. "If what Ren says is true then you should be able to slash and stab to your hearts content, just like normal. Which means, other then being weird things to fight, usual tactics of focus fire. Me you and pretty boy here in the front trying to flank it, Theo providing support in the back. Shouldn't be to much for us to handle."

"Hey I don't mind getting wet but if penetration is ineffective it's not the same," Knives says, looking back at Ev.

"Well hey if it doesn't work we pull out, catch our breath and try again from another position, right?"

Theo just sighs.

"I'm beginning to miss the days when you had to be subtle around the military."

Ren raises his eyebrows. "Military vets huh?"

"Oh come on Theo, we're not that bad. Just a couple puns now and again because I don't have commanding officers hanging over my head." Evelynn playfully teases, before turning to address Ren. "Yup not in the military anymore though obviously, but we've had experience in an organized fighting. Don't suppose that will be a problem?"

"Cool cool. Combat wise Theo is a cleric and Knives... well Knives is call Knives what exactly are you expecting? You say your good with a blade, any other skills?" Eve inquires.

Evelyn sees nothing in the treeline, but she does hear a small rustling above her... she looks up to see a cat sleeping in the branches well above her. Except that, looking realizing the actual distance, it's too large for a normal cat, and it sleeps with its legs more parallel to its spine... and there's a large piece of cloth hanging near him...

What the fuck...
Eve silently motions to Theo and Knives with her right hand, telling them to fall back to her position then points at the... Thing... In the trees with her blade. She keeps her eyes on the threat, still ready to raise her shield in a moments notice if the creature lunged at her from the branches

They quietly come to her and look up. "Is that... those are real?" Theo whispers. The thing flicks its tail back and forth rhythmically, swooshing the pine needles.

"I... think so?" Eve whispers back, her eyes rhythmically entranced by the creatures tail. "Dad might have mentioned something like this before... they are like people right? But cats?"

"Like elves or faeries..."
"Elf cats? Really?" Knives hisses.
"I can't say how dangerous he'd be, I never read much about them."

"Elf cats? That sounds insufferable. Elves are already aloof, but you add cat traits onto that?" Eve looks back up at the... cat elf warily. "Or he could be like Dad, in which case he'd be pretty cool. Guess that's the problem with people, you can never tell until you meet them. Thoughts?' Evelynn asks the group, desperately hoping that the thing couldn't hear them with some sort of cat like hearing.

Its ears twitch.
"I think we should avoid-"
"Are you kidding? We can't pass up an opportunity to interact with something like this."

"Guy's... I think it's awake. I think it, or he, can hear us." Evelynn whispers, her tone one of quick caution and warning. She drops into a fighting stance, raising her shield up and placing the blade along it's edge ready to thrust out. Still whispering, she says "Well, can you? Stop playing games."

The thing's eye opens slightly, looking down towards Ev. It then opens quickly as it noticed Ev and her sword, sitting up with its back to the tree trunk. For a moment, it simply pauses, watching her.

Ev stares back firmly, but without any aggression in her stance or voice. She steps in front of her friends and lowers the blade slightly, then speaks up "Sorry to wake you from your nap. Would you be willing to swear not to attack us? I will make the same vow in return."

His sleepy expression fades into a smirk. "That intimidating am I? Sure I mean you no harm," he calls down. He gets up and stands with his digitigrade legs on a branch shortly below the one he was on, and Ev can see he is wearing a sort of cloth underwear. "Never seen a Felsidhe before?"
"We haven't; it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, my name is Theo."
"Hey, I like you, that's a much more polite introduction. I am Sonkei Kaminari." he manages to bow while balancing on the limb.

Sensing no danger from the... Felwhat? Felski? Fallshidi? ...Lets just go with cat person. Evelynn relaxes her stance dramatically and puts her weapons away, then returns the bow to Sonkei. "Sorry for the tense introduction friend, but you are something I've never seen before and I grew up around here. In these woods that's a dangerous thing, so lets start over. Hey Sonkei, I'm Evelynn Locke, didn't mean to interrupt your nap but we stumbled upon your camp and, well here we are. Theo's introduced himself and this is..." Eve trails off, gesturing towards Knives with her hand.
