Scene B - Where to?

Post by Author on Wed Feb 11, 2015 7:30 pm

And so the morning goes by nursing hangovers and being a peeping... Trish? At any rate, Mori's top is found laying on bar, while Crystal had fallen asleep inside Hiro's library.
Eventually Kai calls a meeting and the group piles into the "war room" as Roger calls it, given its big oval table.
"So," Kai says, standing at the head of the table, "Mori can I see your nice map of the region?"
"Excellent tits by the way, Mori," Lynn says as she enters the room.

With a exasperated sigh Mori moans "God daaamnit... Why won't anyone tell me what I did last night..." while rubbing her forehead with her fingers. She reaches down into a pack by her side and pulls out a pair of scroll tubes, tossing them unceremoniously towards Kai. "Here are my maps, where do you wanna go?"

"I'll let you know, as soon as I figure out what I did last night. And relax. Plenty of people have seen my boobs. You don't see me getting annoyed about not knowing why they saw them."

"Because," Lynn says, "Crystal wasn't there, Roger and Jasper think it's funny, and everyone else got too drunk to remember. But I remember. Vaugly. We ended up making... Alternate bets. So you bet your top's place around your chest. And then you danced around on the bar." She gives a thumbs-up.
"Aaaaaaanyway, Kai says, rolling out the map. We're sailing northeast off the map, but obviously we're going to want to minimize trips where possible."He points to a spot on the far ahead of the gulf, near the north end. "So we should make a stop at the city Nathan-dris-"
Na-Thandris," Troy corrects his punctuation. "After that, to my understanding there's a large continent to the east of the map... So if we can find some information about what's there we plan based on that... We might need to make a second stop on the far coast if we can't find good info on the continent."

Mori adopts a horrified face as Lyn reveals that she danced.
Oh god oh god oh god Wwwwhhhyyyyyy did I think that was a good idea. I... At least I didn't do anything else...
She buries her face in her hands and lets out a third sigh. "Well alright then! Seems last night happened. That was a thing, okay. Na-Thandris? Makes sense, big port town and all. Let's just be careful with our ship."

"We could dock away from town and pull the ship into the bottle."
"Can living creatures be in the boat when you shrink it?" Kai asks.
"Long as they're below deck, yeah."
"That's... Really? Cryatal asks.
"Yeah."
"Awesome," she says under her breath.

"Well, if there's a good spot to do that at, it'd probably be a good idea."
"Alright, if we're in agreement on that, we'll need Mori to help chart course. The other issue is gathering supplies for the trip. We'll want the "freezer" filled, but that's only so large. Luc, you're the cook, I figured you and Troy could go out and buy food supplies. Roger, how fast does this thing go?"
"Well the propulsion was built for short-term speed mainly, but even so we can go at about 10 knots."
"Okay, so..." Kai stares blankly at the map.

"From here..." Mori flicks her wrists and casts mage hand, the glowing green claw pointing to the ships current location. It then traces over the map out ten knots towards Na-Thandris. "To here. It's good speed, and I don't think anyone here will complain about spending more time in this ship. Just... Maybe less night that end with me dancing topless. Or worse. Still, shouldn't take more then a day to reach the city at ten knots a hour."

Right Tracy, we get it. You like sex.
"Restock in Na-Thandris, maybe pick up a local job or two if the picking is good. Hopefully I could find some maps of the area we are heading to." Mori says, focusing on the map. "Haven't heard rumors of pirates in these waters... Not that many pirates would willingly Attack a ship with this much silver."

"Pirates are far from unhead of in the gulf with how many trade vessels go around..."
"Yeah but pirates, " Kai begins, then glances at Roger, "the average pirate, at least, just hunts for easy pickings. You'd have to be pretty badass to Attack a ship with a filligree."

Lynn cracks her knuckles, "Sounds like fun to me."
"Anyway, if we have that kind of speed supplies won't be too hard to gather, but we'll want to talk preferences."
"I vote cow," Lynn says, then smirks and glances at Troy. "No offense big guy." Troy rolls his eyes.

Re: Scene B - Where to?

"First off, question," Luc interjects, taking his feet off the table and leaning forward.  "How much money do we have to put towards foodstuffs? Because I would ah, like to stress the importance of eating well and its role in crew morale. And that means having a wide variety of meats, produce, seasonings, spices, sauces, et cetera... certainly, we should grab everyone's preferences, but why not expand our horizons, push past some of our usual comfort zones?"

A smile of anticipation creeps its way to the side of his mouth. "A chef with room to experiment is a happy chef, and a happy chef means happy food. Just saying."

"I, for one, support any and all alchemical food experiments you would like to plan." Mori says cheerily. "As long as you still make me some steak sammiches. Love me some steak sammiches with a glass of mead. Which, hmmm... We should also get fish for fish sammiches. Imagine all the sammiches you could make!"

"Well, most of the sailors were not as literate and called sandwiches "sammiches." Having working with them for so long it just became jargon." Mori answers.
